Action for Children

This children's charity was founded on 9th July 1869 by Revd Thomas Stephenson, a Methodist minister, challenged by the plight of homeless children on the streets of London. 

Action for Children Sunday is celebrated on the second Sunday in July, which this year falls on 11th July 2010. 

This year's campaign centres around NEGLECT.  This is continuous failure to meet a child's basic needs including love, support, food, clothing, health and security.
