District Development

The Southampton District works with its circuits to develop the mission of the Methodist Church in our area.

Southampton District Vision

In the power of the Spirit and in the name of Christ to renew vision and promote the work of God through worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism.

Southampton District Priorities

• to focus on evangelism.
• to give priority in terms of stationing and resourcing to churches where people are demonstrating an imaginative desire to build on and step out in faith.
• to put resources into specified areas of work where Christians are seeking.
• to stand alongside the weak and disadvantaged.
• to give weight to work which focuses on outreach and work with younger people

District Staff are engaged with churches, circuits and district schemes in line with the District Vision Statement and National priorities.

District Development Enabler, Matthew Reed, is focussed on this area of work and is available to help local teams working on new ideas, improving exisiting work or seeking out what is God's call in the situation that they have identified.  Contact him directly to arrange a meeting, or to access resources.
