A team of enthusiasts have been meeting regularly over the past two years to look at new ways to bring people outside the church into contact with God’s love. Some of the success stories, such as the monthly skittles evenings at one of our churches, fill us with hope but other activities seem very hard to get off the ground. The Baby and Toddlers Clothes Swap scheme is certainly proving hard work but it is an iterative process and hopefully we will get right one day. Our smallest church is really making a difference. As they only have use of their premises on Sundays, they are limited in what they can do. Once a quarter, they have an afternoon service, café style, which draws in about 40 people from the community. It is being well received and people seem eager to know when the next service is being held. And the message? – don’t give up; God moves in mysterious ways.
