Preachers' Preparation - a way to help Ministers and Local Preachers prepare for ReKindle Sunday

We met two to three weeks before ReKindle-ReMoving Sunday as Ministers and Local Preachers and spent an hour talking through the issues and possible directions for sermons on the Ruth 1 passage.  Subjects covered ranged from the parallels between geographical movement and our spiritual journeys to the women in Matthew's genealogy of Jesus.  The process helped us come up with possible supporting readings and suggested a number of applications to church members' own discipleship.

It was an extremely fruitful hour and I would certainly recommend it.  It may be too late for you to organise before the present ReKindle Sunday (21 November onwards) but you could try it next time.  Put a date in the diary for Ministers and Local Preachers to get together just for the purpose of stimulating ideas for the sermons on the theme around the circuit.
