Our Friends from the URC Wessex Synod are having a day in which they remember particularly our friends and colleagues in the Lusaka Presbytery of UCZ to take place on 13 February. At the same time they will be praying for us.
I commend to you the Prayer Ideas sent from Rev Mwape Chilekwa and copy the below:
He has sent the following list: -
-
The general well being of the Lusaka Presbytery, giving thanks for ever increasing numbers of members in all congregations, and remembering the ever rising need for resources to put up more accommodation for church workers in the Presbytery.
-
Rev’d Peggy Mulambya Kabonde, who was recently appointed as General Secretary of the UCZ, the first woman to hold this post.
-
Rev’d. Jose J. Antonio and family for the loss of his wife Margaret Antonio who died two weeks ago;
-
Rev’d. Alice Nalwembe Mulenga who is currently studying for her Masters at Birmingham University and hopes to complete in June;
-
Miss Gwyneth Chisha Chilekwa , Mwape’s daughter, who is currently studying for her ACCA at London School of Accountancy and Management and hopes to obtain her BSc in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University to which the School is affilliated;
-
HODEP- Helping Orphans Develop Programme in Chilenje Consistory for their continued work in enabling orphans receive education up to the equivalent of GCSE;
-
Rev’ds Silungwe, Mufunda and Sikazwe who retired from active service;
-
Chunga UCZ which will be officially opened on 19th June;
-
The Youth Group that is preparing to visit France on the third leg of the UCZ / URC / ERF Exchange;
-
The proposed visit of the Moderator of the Wessex Synod with her colleagues from the Southampton District of the Methodist Church and Nord-Nomandie Presbytery of the L'Eglise Reforme de France;
11. This year's Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Government elections in Zambia.
I realise that this is rather a long list and you may wish to choose two or three of the topics for your pastoral prayers. It would be appreciated if you would reply to me after your service on 13th February and let me know which topics you have prayed for, so that I can let Mwape know.
When replying, would you also please answer the following questions: -
-
Does your church have a link with any church, institution or project in Zambia? If so, please let me have details, including the name and contact details of the link person in your church.
-
If your church does not have such a link, would you like to partnered with a church in the Lusaka Presbytery of the UCZ? The purpose of this link would not be to raise money for the Zambian church, although this could happen, but to exchange news and remember each other in prayer, and perhaps arrange exchange visits.
